Restaurant Rescue Project Voucher

Our story

I started The Pot Luck Club in 2012 , with a very small family of 5 employees. Over the years, our small business has grown to 4 restaurants comprising of The Test Kitchen, The Shortmarket Club and Salsify at the Roundhouse. Our family has become bigger too, count prior to the COVID-19 pandemic stood at 203 employees.

The enforced lockdown and subsequent regulations have meant that The Pot Luck Club initially morphed into a home delivery service under level 4 lockdown, which we continue to offer alongside our seated dinner service, allowed under level 3.

Our income has been a fraction of our normal turnover. The result has been that we have regrettably had to retrench some staff and the balance are on short time. We have every intention of employing as many staff as we can, as soon as we can. There has been little financial support from government and the regulations have made it really difficult to do what we love, create an experience that transports our guests to a different place, somewhere were each guest forgets about the daily chores and is filled with joy, laughter and an unforgettable memory. Our wish is that in the future we can continue to do this

Future possibilities…

With the help of the wine industry, this may just be possible. Through The Restaurant Rescue Project, the brainchild of Alex Dale, MD at Radford Dale, the project engages wines farms, who partner with restaurants. We are delighted that Warwick Wine are on board to help The Pot Luck Club get through these tough times.

How it works

Warwick Wine are donating 200 cases of 6 bottles of their amazing Professor Black 2018, – a Bordeaux-style white blend, 69% Sauvignon Blanc and 31% Semillon. The 2018 vintage has been awarded 4.5 John Platter Stars and Tim Atkin scores it 94 Points. Each case is valued at R2100.
